I started my CrossFit journey in 2013, following many months of trying to talk myself into making a positive change in my fitness.  I knew what CrossFit was, and knew a few people who did CrossFit but as a mother of two and at 29 I thought I was too old and too far out of shape to start.  I am and have been a stay at home mom since our son was born in 2009 and absolutely LOVE being mom to our two awesome kids but was stuck in mom mode 24/7.  I had put myself on the back burner and forgotten how to take time for myself, I wasn't over weight or super unhealthy but just out of shape.  By chance, I met a lady through a mutual friend who was a CrossFit athlete and had a conversation with her about the ins and outs of how it worked and what I could expect from CrossFit, that conversation was all I needed to hear and I was ready! I contacted the gym my friend attended after the weekend and I was on my way to a new me! There were several times in the first few months where I questioned what the heck I was doing and what I had gotten myself into but I knew I never wanted to stop doing it! ;)

I have always had a sports and fitness back ground. Growing up I was year round athlete and a 3 sport athlete all through high school.  After high school I stayed active in the gym but never really fell into a groove that made me feel like I was getting the most out of it.  At 25 my husband and I welcomed our first child into the world and added a second 3 years later.  After I had the kids I fell into a groove that I always told myself I wouldn't, I felt stuck and was disappointed for letting myself go.  The moment I walked into my first CrossFit class, I felt like I was home, like I had finally found something I could get in to!  I love showing up and having the workout planned out for me instead of walking into a normal gym and just going for whatever is open.  The community and family element you get at a CrossFit gym is like nothing else out there and has truly changed my life and that of my family for the better.

I love working with kids and have always felt it is important to start kids young to form positive habits. The most rewarding part for me as a CrossFit Kids coach is to see the look of accomplishment on the faces of these young athletes after they've done something they never thought they could!  With all the distractions out there for our kids these days it is more important than ever to get them up and moving and I am thrilled that I get to be part of such an amazing program.  It is so important for our youth to have a positive and encouraging environment where they can learn to become, and stay fit for a lifetime.  My goal is to make each and every kid that walks through the doors feel like they are leaving the class a better version of themselves than when they showed up! In the past few years of coaching kids, I feel like I have learned just as much from them as they have from me. Coaching has been such a rewarding experience for me and I LOVE doing it! I am super excited to not only be coaching kids but also jumping in to coach normal classes every now and then. My goal is always to be the very best coach I can, I want athletes to feel comfortable and confident in every movement they are asked to do. CrossFit is all about functional movement and my goal is to help athletes preform these movements in the safest way possible! I am a big believer in GPP (general physical preparedness) and am excited to have the opportunity to help others be physically prepared for whatever life has to throw at them!

I never fully meant to start Crossfit, I was just lucky enough to stumble across it. Beat down and unmotivated from surgeries I needed something new. Crossfit Eaton at the time was just down the street from me, but I never gave much thought to starting it. One day after school I decided to take a jog. I came across the gym and was terrified to run by thinking I would get laughed at. To my surprise the exact opposite happened! Everyone started cheering for me and encouraging me to get through the run! I had been hooked on Crossfit and I hadn't even started it yet. To this day I still get excited walking into the gym seeing all the amazing people and workouts that Crossfit has to offer. CC

My CrossFit journey began with the desire to try something different from the “Bi’s and Tri’s”, “legs and back” days at my local “globo gym”. I found myself in a community that was fun and CrossFit quickly became one of my most looked-forward-to hours of the day. Who would have thought throwing bars and tires and hanging from rings and ropes could be so fun! I was breaking goals I had been trying to reach for years out on my own. I have since gone through the CF level 1 course and enjoy sharing my excitement with anyone and everyone!!

As a professional firefighter in the Denver area, CrossFit has taught me how to be physically safer and more efficient at my job and my everyday life. I love enjoying the outdoors and everything it has to offer, but I especially love donuts!

For six months I drove by CrossFit Eaton on my way to work and would think, "I should really check that place out". Well, one day I finally called the number on the sign and within a week, I was hooked! Since then, I feel younger, stronger, and most importantly, happier! Years later, my CrossFit journey has evolved into coaching. The reason that I got my CrossFit Level 1 and eventually Level 2 Trainer Certificate was two-fold. I wanted to better myself as an athlete, and I wanted to share my experience and love for CrossFit with others. While I have always been an avid recreator, I do not have a background in sports and had never coached or taught previously. I am just your "average Jane", a true testament that CrossFit is for virtually everyone! This is why I especially love working with new clients. I am very passionate about eating…I mean cooking! Look for my food blog "Don't call me late for dinner" on our webpage! I have so much to learn and am inspired every day by the caliber of athletes at our gym. I am also proud to call them my friends!

"The goal is to get fit, make it the best hour of your day, stay safe, turn up the music, high five some people, and blow off some steam. So remember that. Relax. Have fun. Work out." -Pat Sherwood

I've been in the fitness industry for over 20 years now, but have been a dedicated CrossFitter for the past 7 years.  The more I learn, the more I realize it just makes sense!  I'm known for being the toughest, meanest trainer, but the truth is, I love helping people realize they are so much stronger than they think...mentally AND physically!

I am blessed with 3 beautiful children and an amazing husband.  I am the choir teacher, fitness instructor and strength and conditioning coach at Eaton High School. Music and sports/fitness have always been my passions and where the Good Lord seems to lead me!

I look forward to torturing...I mean training you! Remember, it's all in LOVE! :)

I am a family man. I’ve been happily married to my wife for 18 years.  She is an amazingly talented teacher and coach at our local high school, as well as being a very involved owner/trainer here. We have three beautiful kids that enjoy school, playing, sports and music.  I live here in Eaton, but I am a firefighter in Fort Collins.  I love my job and am grateful to have it.  It’s where I was first  introduced to CrossFit in 2006.  At the time, I was training much like I always had.  It had taken me through college football, wrestling and power lifting competitions.  I generally felt like I’d been pretty successful, so at first, I just added CrossFit principles to my training.  However, the more CrossFit I added, the better I felt.  I was hooked and feel better now at 38 than I did at 21.  When I say I feel better, I don’t just mean physically, but mentally as well.  I wish that CrossFit had been around when I was younger, but one of the unique aspects of CrossFit is that it’s never too late to start feeling the benefits.

I've been coaching and training athletes for a little more than 20 years now.  From young kids to to older adults, I thrive on helping folks find their potential.  Let us help you find yours.  Current certifications include CF Level 1, CF Level 2, CF Olympic Lifting, Total Body Strength and Conditioning, Firefighter Performance and ACE Peer Fitness Trainer.
