Why do you train?

Have you ever asked yourself why you're in here day after day busting your butt.  Why do you get up early, come right after work, start dinner late for the family?  After a WOD, have you ever asked yourself, "Why in the (insert profanity) do I do this to myself."  I have.  Many a time.  The answer for me is really 2 answers.  First, I do this because I can.  There are a lot of folks out there that for whatever reason, don't have the ability to run, jump, lift and move heavy objects.  I pray that the Lord never lets me take that for granted.  Every now and again He reminds me from just how lucky I am when I have to take some time off for an injury or something.  Miserable with a capital M.  I do because I can.  Second, I do this because I want to be the best version of me.  Sure it helps me to be a better firefighter.  Yeah, it helps me during hunting season, shoveling snow, moving STUFF and crushing my kids in nightly wrestling matches. Bottom line though, Crossfit helps me to be a BETTER ME physically, mentally and emotionally.  Why do you train?
