Time to Re-Focus

11/22/10

So its been one week now since the challenge ended.  We're so proud of you guys!  The numbers are great, but it's really amazing to see all of the changes in your bodies.  If you've given yourself the week off from eating well, good for you, you deserved it.  Or did you?

It's funny, but when I was training for the games last year, I was eating really well.  After the games were over, all I could think about was eating a big, juicy cheeseburger from Good Times, some fries and a shake.  It wasn't really that I was even craving the food as much as it was I thought it should sound good. I must admit, the first few bites were heavenly, but soon I began to question my decision.  True to the CrossFit Spirit, I powered through, and felt terrible for my efforts.

Thing is, you guys know what it feels like to feel good.  That's what you deserve.  Don't get me wrong, you have to indulge from time to time, but you don't have to feel like hammered dog doo, which is what you will invariably feel like if you make a habit of eating what you think should sound good.  I wasn't able to hunt this year, but one thing I've learned from years past is it's usually easier to walk the ridge then it is to walk up and down the mountain.

Speaking of falling off the eating well wagon, Thursday is Thanksgiving!  We all have much to be thankful for, including the opportunity to run that morning. Don't forget the Turkey Trot in Windsor.  We'll talk more in class...
