Leadership

9/9/10

A man I respect very much once told me that you don't have to be in the front to be a leader.  Let that sink in for a minute.

Each day, when you come into this gym, you have the ability to inspire those around you.  Pick them up when they're dragging.  Push them to finish with everything they have inside.  You don't have to be the fastest or the strongest.  You don't have to be extraordinary.  Aspire to be the greatest you can be, each and every day, and you'll be the fire that ignites those around you...

An excerpt from http://www.allbusiness.com/specialty-businesses/740068-1.html

Under terrible conditions, good leaders in battle enable ordinary people to routinely accomplish the extraordinary. In battle situations, leaders help their followers to reach very difficult goals and complete very arduous tasks. People in such an environment cannot be managed. They must be led. They are. And, in leading under terrible conditions, successful combat leaders build and lead amazing organizations that get things done ethically, honestly, and, for the most part, humanely.
